Bangkok is the largest city of the tour. The population is approximately 10 million. Considering its size, it is reasonably safe. In fact, for its size, it is said to have one of the lowest crime rates in the world. You will be safe in all the places the tours go. In general, you will feel very comfortable as there will always be guides, and support to make your experience relaxing! The people in both countries are happy to see foreigners. The other thing you will notice is that the people in Asia are of a smaller build. Most Asian men look to weigh 120 pounds or less. They are smaller than men from other countries.
