Chiang Mai Week

Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand. It is located some 700 km (435 mi) north of Bangkok, among some of the highest mountains in the country.

In recent years, Chiang Mai has become an increasingly modern city; and although it lacks the cosmopolitan nature of Bangkok, it has many attractions for the thousands of foreign visitors who come each year. Chiang Mai's historic importance is derived from its strategic location on an ancient trade route.

The weather is cooler than in Bangkok or Phuket. Occasionally you may need a jacket or sweater in the evening or when you visit the mountains. Chiang Mai is a must see for those who want to experience the more ancient feel and beauty of Thailand.

Chiang Mai is said to have the most beautiful women in Thailand. Since it is located in the northern part of the country the climate is cooler and ladies tend to have a fairer complexion.

Jungle & River Raft Expedition (Rambo 4) (Included in your Hi-5tour package)

This is an awesome day you will visit the location where in 2008 the movie "Rambo Four" was filmed.The Mae Ping Elephant Village.

There you will see the Elephant Show and watch as the volunteers from the audience receive a message from a 3-ton elephant!

Next you board the elephant with trek across a river and through the jungle. A great experience to share with a lady!
After 45-minutes, you board a bamboo raft and take a leisurely 25-minute float downstream and stop at the Jungle Hut Restaurant for a nice buffet lunch.
We suggest you don't go alone; this is perfect opportunity to take a lady with you. The additional cost for your lady can be paid at the time of the tour.

You will see how Silk has been produced for thousand of years. See the silkworm producing its thread and see the process through, to making the clothes. The clothing will be on display and available for purchase. The clothing makes great souvenirs for you friends back home.

Thailand produces some of the finest Sapphires & Rubies in the world.You will tour the factory and see how they transform a raw stone into a fine piece of jewelry. You will have plenty of time to browse the factory store and make a purchase if you like.

You will visit a handcraft factory for local products that you may have never seen before, such as woodcarvings, umbrellas, silverware and beautiful pottery. You will see how they apply gold leaf to various items. The factory stores have large selections and great prices!

Thursday-Long Neck Tour Day (Included in your Hi-5tour package)

Featured in "Riply's Believe or Not" you will visit the amazing Karen Long Neck Tribe located 90 minute drive north of Chiang Mai. The women famously wear brass rings around their necks. This distorts the growth of their collarbones and makes them look as if they have long necks, which they don't. This row of brass rings do not actually stretch their necks but in fact squash the vertebrae and collar bones. A woman generally has about twenty or more rings around her neck. This neck ring adornment is started when the girls are 5 or 6 years old. This is a very friendly and amazing tribe to visit.

Saturday

You will visit the ancient Doi Suthep Temple, located on a nearby mountain, overlooking Chiang Mai. You will see a view of Chiang Mai at 3,500 feet above sea level. Grab a stick and ring the large bells at the top of the Temple, it is said to give you good fortune. This is a very interesting tour; you will feel like you are living in the ancient world.
